Coleraine Beauty Businesses Celebrate Success At Prestigious Award Ceremony

Two beauty businesses in Coleraine have walked away with trophies from the prestigious NI Beauty Excellence Awards 2024. 

The two businesses in Coleraine to scoop up prizes were Romaya Hair Makeup and Brows for Hair Salon of the Year (Small) and A Aesthetics North Coast who picked up the Highly Commended Award for New Business of the Year – Aesthetics, Beauty, Hair. 

Thirty awards were distributed throughout the evening, with Christine Mackin, founder of Radiance Beauty and Day Spa in Belfast recognised for her outstanding contribution to the industry during her 22 years of business. 

Katrina Doran, make-up and skincare specialist and head judge on the panel which was made up of various independent professionals in the industry said; “We were blown away by the businesses who entered the awards this year. Each one has made huge strides in growing the professionalism of the industry and their ongoing commitment to their staff really shone through in the entries. It is clear that business owners are continuing to place a huge focus on educating and developing their staff through training, to keep up with the ever-evolving beauty industry. This is an industry bringing huge benefits to each and every community the businesses are operating within, and we are hugely privileged to read their stories each year. Congratulations to all the winners!” 

The Awards took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast, where the great and the good of the industry gathered to celebrate their achievements, with 30 gongs given out on the night, including four new Awards for 2024 including Sustainable Business of the Year and Nurse-led Aesthetics Clinic.

This has been our biggest year ever, with hundreds of individuals and businesses sharing their achievements and growth throughout a competitive industry that has only strengthened in the past most challenging years. 

“I’d like to thank our independent judging panel for their time and respect towards every business that entered our awards and I’d like to send my congratulations to every finalist, highly commended and winner on the evening!” 

The judging panel was made up of new faces including Yolanda Cooper, Trichologist and CEO of The Conscious Beauty Group; Pamela Kennedy, founder of International Beauty Distribution & Training Academy and co-founder of the award-winning Tan Brush; and award-winning journalist and beauty editor Liz Dwyer and her sister Nikki Dwyer, who together run Future Beauty & Health, and co-host their aesthetics podcast, “Fess Up”. They joined head judge Katrina Doran who returned for a fourth year, and  founder and CEO of Vita Liberata, Alyson Hogg MBE; nail expert and Renew Beauty, BioSculpture and Elim Educator, Ingrid Graham; Principal Dentist and owner of Martina Dental & Skin Clinic, Dr Martina Collins, all returning for their second year.
