Belfast Has Talent Competition Launches with £2K Prize and Charity Fundraising for Suicide Awareness

Calling all singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and performers of all kinds! The stage is set for Belfast’s most exciting talent showcase, Belfast Has Talent, offering a £2,000 prize and a chance to make a difference by raising funds for the Suicide Awareness & Support Group.

The competition, officially launched by Belfast’s favourite busking Elvis impersonator Jelvis and Miami Showband legend Des Lee, will run from 8th September to 10th November at The Felons, Belfast.

Hosted by TV and radio presenter Robin Elliott, Belfast Has Talent promises to shine a spotlight on the city’s diverse talent while supporting a vital cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Belfast-based charity Suicide Awareness & Support Group, which offers essential services to those in need across the community.

To register for a chance to win the grand prize of £2,000 and share your talent on stage, interested participants are invited to email [email protected]. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just waiting for your big break, now is your time to step into the spotlight.

Belfast Has Talent is also supporting the Mental Health Awareness Campaign #MovingMindsTogether which runs from 10th September (Suicide Prevention Day) to 10th October (World Mental Health Day). The aim of this campaign is to increase awareness and also encourage people to get physically and Mentally socially active to support their own, family and friends Mental Health.

This means building good habits coming into the winter months of being physically and socially active more often which can ensure people are more connected and have physical, mental and social outlets during the toughest times of the year.

The legacy of the campaign will be the HOPE that people will sustain those relationships and habits long after the Month-long Awareness Campaign is over.

To take part in this campaign, Suicide Awareness & Support Group asking people to take videos being physically or socially active themselves or with family and friends, post it on social media and use the #MovingMindsTogether

The Video could be:

  • A gym workout
  • A Walk, Run, Swim, Hike, Skip, Bike Ride
  • Visiting a Farm or Park
  • Taking Part in A Sport.
  • Dancing
  • People having a cup of tea and talking.
  • Gardening
  • Group Activities
