iCare, a part of the Tarasis Enterprises Foundation Division, are thrilled to announce the continuation of its ‘Our Community Cares’ campaign for the second year in a row. Teaming up with local businesses; Tarasis Enterprises, Bunzl, Konfloor, McShane Packaging and Linwoods; the initiative aims to provide much-needed assistance to families in the area during the upcoming summer season, before the recommencement of schools. Building on the success of last year’s campaign, these businesses are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those grappling with economic challenges.
Amidst the persistent cost-of-living crisis, the ‘Our Community Cares’ campaign will once again offer vouchers for school uniforms, to give relief for families facing financial strains, particularly with the added pressure of the new school year. All vouchers will be purchased from local shops in Armagh.
Janine Smalls, co-founder of iCare, emphasised the continuity of the campaign, highlighting its direct lineage from the charity’s impactful work during the previous Christmas season, noting the involvement of additional businesses to broaden the campaign’s reach.
She remarked: “The overwhelming response we received last year proved the need for support within our community.
As the cost-of-living crisis persists, our commitment to assisting families remains unwavering. With the ‘Our Community Cares’ campaign, we, along with other local businesses, aim to extend a helping hand to those who need it most.”
Last year, the campaign distributed £20,000 worth of vouchers, generously funded by four companies, benefiting over 400 families across the Armagh City area. Ten primary and secondary schools collaborated with iCare to identify families in need, ensuring targeted assistance reaches those most affected by financial strains.
iCare has reached out to primary and secondary schools in Armagh city to help identify families who would benefit most from support, with vouchers due to be distributed in schools during the last fortnight of term before the school holidays.
The team at iCare extends its gratitude to each of the local businesses for their continued partnership and hopes that the ‘Our Community Cares’ campaign will once again bring meaningful relief to families in need this summer.
Support through the iCare ‘Our Community Cares’ campaign will be available to people living in the Armagh City area.
