The right time to get your Covid-19 vaccination is right now, Health Minister Robin Swann has emphasised.
“The latest figures on our Covid-19 dashboard are deeply concerning, both in terms of deaths and new cases,” the Minister said.
“The Delta variant is taking its toll on Northern Ireland and it is vital that as many of our citizens as possible are vaccinated.
“The Big Jab Weekend is about providing even more opportunities for people to get their jab. If you are not yet vaccinated, the best and right time to get your jab is right now. Please don’t delay.
“While we will continue to provide opportunities to get vaccinated, these opportunities will inevitably become more limited. It will never be easier to get your jab than it is now.”
The Big Jab Weekend promotion this Saturday and Sunday sees Northern Ireland’s mass vaccination centres once again offering walk-in first jabs for all adult age groups. That’s on top of ongoing vaccinations at walk-in pop-up clinics across Northern Ireland, and by appointment at participating community pharmacies.
The Big Jab Weekend will be the last chance for anyone aged 18 and over to get their first jab at a mass vaccination centre
These centres will soon be winding down their work. They ceased offering first doses to the general population at the end of July, but are returning to that role for this weekend only.

The Health Minister also thanked local businesses for showing their support to the Covid19 vaccination programme.
A number of companies from across Northern Ireland have been keen to support the Big Jab Weekend through promotions. These include Bob and Berts, Moe’s Grill, Loaf Catering, SSE Arena and BFIT Belfast gym.
The Minister added: “It has been great to see the support for the Big Jab Weekend across Northern Ireland. My thanks go to these businesses for getting on board so enthusiastically.”
