Millennium Forum Launches New Accessible Website

JUST A CLICK AWAY FROM A GREAT NIGHT OUT!

The Millennium Forum has just launched a brand new website that will enable a more user-friendly experience for its customers, in particular, those with accessibility needs. Funded by Derry City & Strabane Council and created by Northern Ireland web development company, Eyekiller, the new website offers a host of new features including easier navigation, a brand new ‘search’ function, better optimisation for mobile devices, a clear outline of all accessible events, plus a fresh and modern new design.

Lisa Heaney, Box Office & Access Manager, is delighted with the new website.  She says:

“At the Millennium Forum, we recognise the importance of digital accessibility and aim to provide an inclusive online experience that enables all users, regardless of ability, to access our website content easily and efficiently. Our goal is to make the Millennium Forum website user-friendly, intuitive and accessible to people with diverse needs. We continually strive to improve the user experience for everyone and adhere to the latest accessibility standards and best practices.

Our team has been working tirelessly for the past few months to deliver a much-needed new website that I know everyone will love.  As we constantly strive to ensure accessibility is at the heart of what we do, it was incredibly important that our new website was up-to-date.  With the help of our talented web design team at Eyekiller, we are now proud to offer an online experience for our customers that complies with WCAG2.2 AA guidelines – the most up-to-date in terms of Access regulations.

Thanks to Derry City & Strabane Council for providing the much needed funding for this project.  This will make a huge difference to ensuring that all our customers can access not only our website, but also everything that we have to offer as an award-winning theatre.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Lilian Seenoi Barr, said:

“I am delighted to see these steps being taken by the Millennium Forum to ensure that everyone can easily have access to information about the many wonderful programmes and events at the theatre. It’s so important that everyone feels welcome in our cultural venues and that people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to engage with and enjoy the arts. It’s something that we work hard to promote within our own Council programmes and services and it’s wonderful to see access and inclusion being prioritised in other venues throughout the City and District. Well done to all involved in the project.”
