Programme Launched for Hospitality Exchange 2024

Hospitality Exchange 2024 marks a significant milestone as the event enters its twenty-fifth year, offering an engaging and insightful experience with a focus on the themes shaping the future of the industry. This year’s programme will reflect on the journey since 1999, exploring the evolution of Northern Ireland’s hospitality sector.

NIHF President, Eddie McKeever, highlights the importance of this event: “Hospitality Exchange is the largest tourism and hospitality conference in Northern Ireland, and since 1999, the sector has seen over £1.5 billion in investment.

“This year’s programme will delve into the industry’s growth, challenges and the latest innovations.

“We are, at our core, a people-focused industry, and we’re excited to welcome several leading sports figures who will share their unique insights on team-building and achieving success.

“AI is a topic that’s on everyone’s lips, sometimes spoken about in hushed tones due to concerns it may diminish the personal touch that defines our industry. However, automation plays a crucial role in streamlining processes, freeing up our people to deliver an authentic, warm welcome to our guests.

“We are also thrilled to have one of the UK’s top chefs, Mark Birchall, join us. He will not only speak about his Michelin Star success but will also create a gourmet dinner on the eve of this year’s event.

“In addition, we will be exploring what we can learn from the world of sports and reviewing the impact of hosting global events, such as last year’s Rugby World Cup in France and the upcoming return of The Open in 2025. Our continued investment is being recognised, and we look forward to discussing this further in October at Hospitality Exchange.”

Janice Gault, Chief Executive of NIHF, adds: “Hospitality Exchange 2024 is not just an opportunity to reflect on our industry’s past successes but а critical forum for discussing its future.

“We have had great support from all elements of the industry and there is a real appetite to see the industry grow and contribute further to the future of Northern Ireland.

“The themes we’ve chosen this year reflect the challenges and opportunities ahead, particularly in areas like AI integration, sustainable practices and tourism’s evolving landscape.

“We’re excited to welcome Mark Birchall and other industry leaders who will share their insights and inspire us all.

“This year’s event promises to be our most engaging yet, and we encourage everyone involved in the sector to join us in this celebration of innovation and growth.”
