Casino experts at Casino Revisor analysed the average number of monthly Google searches across the UK for terms related to reality TV show applications, such as ‘how to apply for The Chase’ and ‘First Dates application,’ to determine which shows the UK is most desperate to appear on.

Taking the top spot is Love Island, with 3,535 average monthly Google searches. First airing in 2015, it has become one of the UK’s most popular reality TV shows. Set in a beautiful villa in Mallorca, the show brings together a group of singles who must couple up and compete in various challenges. The ultimate goal is to find love whilst surviving public votes and the scrutiny of fellow contestants. The show has gained a massive following for its drama, romance, and unexpected twists, making it a staple of British television.

In second place is Deal or No Deal, which is searched 2,687 times per month on average. The show aired from 2005 to 2016, hosted by Noel Edmonds. It made a comeback in 2023, with Stephen Mulhern as the host. The reboot has retained the core elements that made the original show a hit, with contestants selecting from 22 sealed boxes and facing the nerve-racking decisions posed by the Banker, captivating a new generation of fans.

The research also revealed the UK towns and cities that are most interested in appearing on reality TV, by analysing the number of searches related to reality TV show applications per 100,000 citizens.

Preston came out on top, with 294 monthly Google searches for reality TV applications per 100,000 citizens. Closely following are Rochdale and Wakefield, with 283 and 282 monthly searches per 100,000 residents, respectively.

Surprisingly, London is the least interested in appearing on reality TV, with just 60 monthly Google searches per 100,000 people.
